What You See Is What You Get

Does anyone know the term WYSIWIG? What you see is what you get. I was born in an era where the term was born. Era where computers were still using DOS. If you want to type, you should have a boot disk. If you want to use spreadsheet, you should have another boot disk.

Not like today, under windows, everything is ready to use. No need to boot your way in. WYSIWIG was used for saying that “if you print this, you will get exactly what shown on your monitor”. But in order to do that, in the word processor (WordStar), you had to key in the function WYSIWIG.

Changes are…

In the present? You don’t need to do it anymore. You don’t have to memorize any function key you need for sum, for averaging the table you have. You only need click this. Click that. If you want to print? You only need to print preview, make sure everything is already okay, like what you want to print.

Big changes, an improvement was made from Lotus123 to the Excell where everything is much more simple. Improvement from WordStar into Words that also make everything much easier to handle. I remember how I need to memorize the Ctrl B, Ctrl S, Ctrl bla and so many other Ctrl for WordStar. Now, just one button-clicked away.

Well, changes are exist in every aspect of our life. Even in the smallest part of our body, changes are exist, such as a white hair appear on your hair. A person change from A to A+ or A-. That’s the fact in life. Changes are exist and people do CHANGE.

what you see is what you get
We Change

So, if you are thinking that a person is still the same person you’ve known, you need to think again. Because, I am sure that person is a different person, either on their physicals or behavior – which is harder to see.  You can’t expect everyone around you to be the same, while you, yourself is changing from time to time. At least, the one you notice with your naked eyes is how the person looks like now.

Am I Changing?

That’s one question that often asked to myself, am I changing? If so, do the changes an improvement or otherwise? I feel that I am changing, but to judging about the changes, I can’t do it wisely without any help of friends around me. If you only see the appearance, I am sure you will say: “Yes, you are changing – and somehow it is better” But is it also happening to what inside me?

I was chatting with a college friend this morning, he said that, you are a smart person, role model, at least that what shown before. I was laughing – replying his message, but inside, I was wondering, Am I??? Am I that person and still am that person he sees? Well, I am hoping I am still one, but I know that I am not the person I used to be.

Complicated, that is one word that can describe how my life during the past 10 years, I was initially graduated in 2004. Many things happen in my life in this past ten years and so many thing has change. I am not live in Matraman Area anymore, but in the suburban area. I am not as thin as I used to, I was 75 kg ten years ago, now? Just add the number of years past and you will get my weight as of today 😀

I forgot how it feels to have something in your mind for the next five years ahead, which I had when I graduated. Now, I more into the current, just let every thing happen day by day. Is it a bad thing to do? I mean, I know things more than I was 10 years ago, but somehow I feel, I know less. Arghh, this is just another rumbling from me.

WYSIWYG Person

WYSIWYG – what you see is what you get is one thing I believe in, that people love the idea of being who you are, no pretending. But what happen if people don’t like what they see about us? Should we change ourselves into the person they want us to be?

We should be the person they want us to be, IMHO, as long as it brings the best part of us. I mean, I am sure people around us are nice people who like us to be better and better person. So, if they suggesting things that are for our own good, why would we close our eyes and do nothing? What do you think?

Well you can always say: “This is me – wysiwyg – if you don’t like it, don’t see it.” But is it the best answer for the situation? Arghhh… too many things I had in mind that making me ended up with so many nonsense rambling. I better cut this chit-chat here.
